PostSubject: How to Combine CC into one package   Mon Jan 28, 2013 10:50 pm

Hello! I just Figured out how to do this, and I couldn't really find a great tutorial for it so I decided I would make one! This Will show you how to Merge many files of CC into one file so your game runs much faster!

Here is what you will need:
S3PE (http://www.den.simlogical.com/denforum/index.php?topic=189.0)
*optional* Delphy's Multi installer (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=364038)

Okay, here we go!

*important* Do not include mods, hacks, patterns, tattoos or poses into this! It will not work!

1. *only use this step if you want to include .sims3pack CC into this*
Run Delphy's Multi installer. Choose the folder where all you .sims3pack CC is found (probably in Documents>electronic arts>sims3>downloads) and then in the next option down choose where you want the files to go. I made a folder called Sims CC with sub folders of sims3packs1, sims3packs2, etc. then click the little box that says rename files on save and click extract.

2. If you have Package CC, Go to your package folder and select the CC, cut it, and then paste it where ever you put your .sims3pack CC. DO NOT PUT POSES, PATTERNS, TATTOOS, MODS, OR HACKS INTO THIS. If you skipped that step, I recommend making a new folder for it. I named mine sims CC.

3. Now separate your CC into folders, 100 or less per folder. You may only have 1 folder, you may have a lot more.

4. open S3PE. under file, select new.

5. Right click in the white box, select import> from package

6. Select one of your folders and single click the first item, scroll to the last, then hit and hold the shift key and click the last item. click open.

7. A little window should pop up. Make sure replace duplicates is selected. The ONLY other item that should be selected is use resource name. click import. after this it mat ask if you want it to auto save after the import. Select no. It may take time to import the CC depending on how much you have.

8. your screen should look similar to this, just different file names.

9. Now click file>save and save your file. I have many to do, so I save them in my sims CC folder and cut and paste them into my packages folder. If you don't want to do that, you can just save them into you packages folder.

10. exit out of S3PE. where ever you put your file, It should look like this. MAKE SURE TO PUT IT IN YOUR PACKAGES FOLDER ONCE YOU ARE DONE!! now if you run your game, all your CC should still show up and if your game used to be slow, it should be noticeably faster!

Hope this all makes sense! If you don't understand something feel free to ask!

This tutorial was included in my tutorial on how to organize CC . I like your pictures better, I'll link that section of my tutorial to this one.

I would recommend that you add a list of mods that should not be compressed for one reason or another.

(I copied this over from my tut.)
*Mods you should not compress!!!!:
Tattoo's: I don't know why but Tattoo's don't work if compressed.
Hacks: Hacks are updated so often it is more effective to keep them separate.
Patterns: Some patterns cannot work after compression. I'm not sure why. Just test to see if the pattern you want can work after compression, if it can great, if not keep it in your Patterns folder.
Test folder: This folder is used to make sure the things you download work the way you hope . Once you are satisfied that you like what you downloaded you can compress it into it's proper category.

I like the way you explain it better, I pretty much paraphrased the official tutorial at s3pe.
