Pepper I wanted to say thank you for making this tut. I have tried multiple times before using different tuts to make poses and I never could. However thai just made it SO much easier. This is one thing I will be recomending to a friend. :D

Well have a fantastic day!

XD Thanks. That means a lot. I always think I'm stating the obvious when I make tutorials, because I sometimes missread tutorials and get confused. o.o

Hey Pepper I have a problem! So I did everything you said in all your steps...I made my pose, followed all the steps and packaged the pose. But then when I go in game and type in the pose name, my model just stands still but does not go into the pose. What do I do????

LOL this is actually the pose I am making for Portraits so I want it to work so I can use it!! :alittlenervous

Did you rename it or type it in wrong? And did you be sure you put it in your mods folder? I've done all of those at some point. o.o

Yeah I named it the same....and I put it in the mods folder.

Is there anyway I can still save my pose but try to re-export it from Blender with the same name?

You should be able to just re-import the animation file and go from there.

Did you unzip the file before trying to install it? If not, you may have to uninstall Blender before installing 2.63. I know for me it wouldn't work at all until I uninstalled all of the previous versions.

When I have time, I'm going to install Blender 2.64 and see how different it is for making poses and if I need to I will make a tut for that as well.

Whenever I change the points around the arm this happens, I don't know why. There are no points in between- where the mess is- so I can't figure out what is wrong... help?

Hiya Smile I had the same problem. This video should help you with that: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
If not, I can try helping you Smile

@Pepper, have you found any of the updated rigs and such for blender? I can't find them everywhere and I think that's why I am somewhat difficulties with making some key points work.

I haven't looked for any new rigs. I haven't had time to update my Blender or anything because I'd have to reinstall most of the pose making stuff. Hopefully I'll find the time soon, though it will probably be after I make pose packs for a couple magazines because I'm not sure how long it will take to figure out the updates and stuff.

Just another tip:
You can choose to rotate a joint on a particular axis by pressing R + X, Y or Z (depending on which axis).

Oh ok :) I'll keep looking. It's only that I have 2.64 and the rigs don't work correctly. I also tried it on 2.61 originally and it was even worse there. But your tutorial really helps :)

I think it's coming along nicely. I think there are a few things you could do to make it look more natural though. One is the arms, maybe move them back a bit more so that it looks like they're holding her up. Also, the hands are turned the wrong way. They should be turned the opposite direction that she is looking. Sometimes it helps to move your own arms or legs the way you're making the pose. Just hold your hands up next to your head and you'll see what I mean. :D The feet I don't think should be pointed so much. I never point my feet unless I'm doing a hand stand, but that could just be a personal preference. I think they should be pointed this much at the most. Just remember that when you're posing hands and feet to get them to look as natural as you can without having to change the pose you're trying to do. For me, it's easier to find a photo or a couple of photos that are similar to the pose I'm trying to make, that way you know what it's supposed to look like.

Hopefully you don't think that's too critical =[ I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I notice too many things. o.o But the pose looks great and fun and I think a lot of people would love to use it if you decide to release it :D

okay, yeah I see what you are saying, I didn't realize that the hand are pointing the wrong way XD I held my hands up and all, but still pointed them the wrong way... oops... Bu t thanks a lot for all the critique, It is my first time doing this, so I wanted to try something pretty easy.... :)
